AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 17B- 9 OF ORDINANNTE AWAY$AS
TO PROVIDE MINIMUM SPACING REQUIREMENTS FOR OFF-SI /M " EYFR
STANDING SIGNS ; TO REDUCE THE AMOUNT OF PERMISSIBLE H� (jLERIt
SURFACE AREA OF FREE-STANDING SIGNS IN INDUSTRIAL DISTRICTS ;
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS .
Section 1 . That Section 17B-9 of Ordinance 1893 is hereby
amended by adding Subsection ( f ) to read as follows :
( f ) Spacing of off- site , free-standing signs . No
two off- site , free-standing signs shall be spaced less
than 200 feet apart ; provided , the minimum spacing
provided hereby shall not apply to signs separated by
buildings or other obstructions in such a manner that
only one sign is visible from the street or highway at
any one time .
Section 2 . That Section 17B- 9 ( D ) ( 3 ) ( a ) of Ordinance 1893
is hereby amended to read as follows :
( a ) Display surface area shall not exceed 75
square feet ; provided , the display surface area of
free-standing signs located on property which abutts
a controlled access highway shall not exceed 200
square feet .
Section 3 . That Section 17B- 11 ( b ) of Ordinance 1893 is
hereby amended to read as follows :
(b ) On-site wall signs shall be permitted in all
districts subject to the following :
( 1 ) In R and R- 0 Districts :
( a) Limit of one on- site wall sign per wall
for each building located on the property , with
a maximum of 4 signs per building .
(b ) Display surface area shall not exceed 16
square feet per sign .
( 2 ) In A , C , I , P and F- 1 Districts :
( a) Limit of one on- site wall sign per wall
for each building located on the property , with
a maximum of 4 signs per building .
(b ) Display surface area shall not exceed 150
square feet per sign .
Section 4 . That Section 17B- 6 (d ) of Ordinance 1893 is hereby
repealed .
Section 5 . That this ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after the time provided by law .
