AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUB-SECTION ( 2 ) OF SECTION 15 - 5
OF THE FAYETTEVILLE CODE OF ORDINANCES ; TO PRESCRIBE QUALI -
FICATIONS FOR MEMBERSHIP ON THE PLUMBING EXAMINING BOARD ,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS :
Section 1 . That Sub-Section ( 2 ) of Section 15 - 5 of
the Fayetteville Code of Ordinances is hereby amended to
read as follows :
( 2 ) Members . The Plumbing Examining Board shall
consist of four residents of the City , two of whom
shall be master plumbers , one a journeyman plumber ,
and one the City Engineer . Said master plumbers and
said journeyman plumber shall have had ten ( 10 ) years
of actual experience as a plumber next before quali -
fying as members of said board , and said master plumbers
and journeyman plumber shall qualify as members of
such board by filing an affidavit of such experience
with the City Clerk , together with the fee of $ 5 . 00 .
Upon the filing of said affidavit and the payment of
said fee , the City Clerk shall issue a Certificate of
Competency , which Certificate shall qualify said
plumbers to act as members of said board ; provided ,
if any plumber be appointed on said board who at
the time of his appointment holds a Certificate of
Competency , and has been a plumber for more than ten
( 10 ) years , he shall be qualified to act as a member of
said board without filing the affidavit and fee
required hereby .
Said board shall be appointed by the Board of Directors
for a term of two ( 2 ) years from the first day of May
of the year of appointment , and thereafter biennially
before the first day of May .
Section 2 . That all ordinances or parts thereof in con-
flict herewith , and specifically Section 5 ( 2 ) of Ordinance
Number 1433 , are hereby repealed .
Section 3 . That this ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after the time provided by law .
