AN ORDINANCE WAIVING FORMAL BID REQUIREMENTS FOR THE
PURCHASE OF EIGHTY: SIX CAST IRON UNITIZED METER BOXES AND
YOKES ; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES .
WHEREAS , the Water and Sewer Department of the City of
Fayetteville , Arkansas , is in need of eighty - six cast iron
unitized meter boxes and yokes ; and ,
WHEREAS , to the knowledge of the City Engineer , Ford
Meter Box Company is the only manufacturer of said boxes and yokes .
NOW , THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS : P/
Section 1 . That pursuant to Ark . Stat . Ann . Sec . 19 - 4425
the requirements of competitive bidding for the purchase
of eighty - six cast iron unitized meter boxes and yokes be ,
and hereby are , waived for the reason that there is only
one manufacturer of said boxes and yokes known to City Officials .
Section 2 . That this ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage , approval and publication .
