i SEWER DEPARTMENT PURCHASES OF ACTIVATED CARBON , LIQUID�ICH10 INE ,
AND ANHYDROUS AMMONIA FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE 1974 CALENDAR
YEAR ; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES .
WHEREAS , the water and sewer department of the City of
Fayetteville is required to purchase activated carbon , liquid
chlorine , and anhydrous ammonia for various purposes during
the year ; and
WHEREAS , formal bids for the purchase of said chemicals
have been advertised for and received ; and
WHEREAS , none of the bids received for said chemicals con -
tained a firm price for one year .
NOW , THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS :
Section 1 . That pursuant to Ark . Stat . Ann . Sec . 19 - 4425
the requirements of competitive bidding for the purchase of
activated carbon , liquid chlorine , and anhydrous ammonia for
the water and sewer department be , and hereby are , waived for
the reason that no firm bids were received by the City for the
purchase of said chemicals , after advertisement for competitive
bids .
Section 2 . That this ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage , approval and publication .
