WHEREAS , Section 20 - 22 of. the Fayetteville Code of Ordinances requires taxicab companies operating within the City of Fayetteville to pay an annual license fee of One Hundred Dollars ( $ 100 . 00 ) plus Three Dollars ( $ 3 . 00 ) per taxicab ; and WHEREAS , Fayetteville Transportation Company is the only taxicab company operating within the City of Fayetteville ; and WHEREAS , Fayetteville Taxicab Company has been operating at a loss for the past several months but desires to continue rendering taxicab service to the citizens of Fayetteville with - out raising its fares ; and WHEREAS , the Board of Directors has determined that it would be in the best interest of the City of Fayetteville if Fayetteville Transportation Company continues its operations and does not raise its fares ; and WHEREAS , Fayetteville Transportation Company will not be able to continue in operation without raising its fares , unless a temporary moratorium on the licensed fees required by Section 20 - 22 of the Fayetteville Code of Ordinances is Granted , NOW , THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS : Section 1 . That Fayetteville Transportation Company be , and is hereby , granted a one year moratorium on the payment of the annual license fees required by Section 20 - 22 of the Fayetteville Code of Ordinances .
