AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 22 OF ORDINANCE NO '. -
1910 , SECTION 20 - 33 . 4 , CODE OF ORDINANCES , CITY OF FAY -
ETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS , TO REFLECT AN INCREASE IN RATES
WHICH MAY BE CHARGED FOR THE ACCEPTANCE AND DISCHARGE OF
PASSENGERS BY TAXICABS .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CIT
OF FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS :
Section 1 . That Section 22 of Ordinance 1910 , Section
20 - 33 . 4 , Code of Ordinances , City of Fayetteville , Arkan -
sas , is hereby amended to read as follows : a
Sec . 20 - 33 . 4 . Rates established ; rate card .
( a ) No owner or driver of a taxicab operating under
this article shall charge a greater sum for the use of a
taxicab than in accordance with the following rates :
( 1 ) If the taxi trip either begins or ends in the
following zones , then the fare shall be that of the higher
zone :

ure zone plus that of the point of destination zone :

( 2 ) Waiting time : Ten Cents ( $ 0 . 10 ) for each minute
of waiting time or fraction thereof . Provided , however ,
that the first two ( 2 ) minutes of waiting time shall be
without charge .
( 3 ) Trunks : Two dollars ( $ 2 . 00 ) for each trunk or
other large item .
( 4 ) Hand baggage and parcel : There will be a twenty -
five cent ( $ 0 . 25 ) charge for each handbag or package re -
quiring handling ' by the driver . There will be a ten cent
( $ 0 . 10 ) per bag charge for grocery bags handled by the
driver .
(b ) Every taxicab operated under this article shall
have a rate card of a type and size approved by the city
manager setting forth the authorized rates and a plot of
the zones which rate card and plot shall be displayed in
such a place as to be in full view of all passengers .
Section 2 . That this ordinance shall be in full
force and effect from and after its passage , approval and
publication .
