AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2 - 69 OF';pdQO ' UF '
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE , ARK 1�SAS TO
PERMIT THE SALE OF SURPLUS CITY PROPERTY AT PUBLIC AUCTION .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
OF FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS :
Section 1 . That § 2 - 69 of the Code of Ordinances ,
City of Fayetteville , Arkansas , is hereby amended to read
as follows :
" § 2 - 69 . SALES .
The purchasing agent may sell or exchange any
City owned supplies , equipment or materials if such
have a fair market value of less than Five Hundred
Dollars ( $ 500 . 00 ) .
Such supplies , equipment or materials which have
a fair market value of Five Hundred Dollars ($ 500 . 00 )
or more may be sold by the purchasing agent by public
auction or by contract sale after formal competitive
bids for the purchase therefor have been solicited
by advertisement and by other means and such bids have
been received and opened .
Section 2 . This Ordinance being necessary for the
preservation of the public peace , health , comfort , con -
venience , morals , safety and welfare of the Citizens of
the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas , an emergency is declared
to exist and this Ordinance shall be in full force from the
date of its approval .
