AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING TERRITORY ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS : ASSIGNING SAID TERRITORY TO WARDS AND
FOR OTHER PURPOSES .
WHEREAS , the County Court of Washington County , Arkansas ,
did on December 21 , 1970 , make an order annexing the following
described territory to the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas , to -
wit :
A part of section twenty - six ( 26 ) , township sixteen ( 16 )
North , Range thirty ( 30 ) West of the 5th P . M . more
particularly described as follows : Beginning at the
Northwest corner of said section twenty - six ( 26 ) ; thence
running South 1013 ' West 3622 . 81 feet ; thence South 880
44 ' East 879 . 78 feet ; thence North 0034 ' East 990 . 00
feet ; thence South 88052 ' East 955 . 83 feet ; thence South
2046 minutes East 1022 . 00 feet ; thence South 70042 ' East
321 . 10 feet ; thence North 84 degrees 55 minutes East
3241 . 76 feet to the channel of the West Fork of White
River ; thence in a Northwesterly direction with the channel
of the river to a point where said channel of the river
crosses the North line of Section twenty - six ( 26 ) ; thence
West to the point of beginning .
WHEREAS , the County Clerk of Washington County , Arkansas ,
has forwarded the transcript of said proceedings to the Board
of Directors of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas , and ,
WHEREAS , more than thirty ( 30 ) days have elapsed since the
date of said order and no proceedings have been instituted in
the Circuit Court to prevent said annexation and no notice
thereof has been given as required by law .
NOW , THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS :
Section 1 . That the annexation of the above - described
territory to the corporate limits of the City of Fayetteville ,
Arkansas , be , and the same is hereby accepted and all of said
territories are hereby assigned to and made a part of Ward
Three of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas .
Section 2 . That this Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage , approval and publication .
