WHEREAS , the County Court of Washington County , Arkansas , did on June 22 , 1970 , make an order annexing the following described territory to the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas , to- wits A part of the Northwest quarter ( NW 1/4 ) of the Southeast quarter ( SE 1/4 ) of Section 12 , lownship 16 North Range 30 West of the 5th Principal Meridian ley ` described as follows : Beginning at the Northeast corner of the Northwest quarter ( NW 1/ 4 ) of the Southeast quarter ( SE 1/4 ) of Section ( 12 ) Township ( 16 ) North Range ( 30 ) West and running thence West ( 870 ) feet ; thence South ( 340 ) feet ; thence East ( 870 ) feet ; thence North ( 340 ) feet to the point of beginning , containing 6 . 79 acres , more or less , and a part of the Northeast quarter ( NE 1/ 4 ) of the Southeast quarter ( SE 1/ 4 ) of Section ( 12 ) Township ( 16 ) North Range ( 30 ) West of the 5th Principal Meridian Washington County , Arkansas , being more particularly described as follows : Beginning at the Southwest corner of said forty- acre tract , and running thence North ( 990 ) feet ; thence East ( 400 ) feet ; thence South ( 990 ) feet ; thence West ( 400 ) feet to the point of beginning , containing 9 . 09 acres , more or less , and , WHEREAS , the County Clerk of Washington County , Arkansas , has forwarded the transcript of said proceedings to the Board of Directors of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas , and WHEREAS , more than thirty ( 30 ) days have elapsed since the date of said order and no proceeding has been instituted in the Circuit Court to prevent said annexation and no notice thereof has been given as required by law . NOW , THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS : SECTION 1 . That the annexation of the above- described territory to the corporate limits of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas be and the same is hereby accepted and all of said territories are hereby assigned to and made a part of Ward Three of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas .
