AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR AND ADOPTING AN OPERATING BUDGET FOR THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1970 ; APPROPRIATING MONEY FOR THE
OPERATION OF THE CITY DEPARTMENTS AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES ; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
TO EXIST .
WHEREAS , Section 2 of Act No . 28 of 1959 ( AS 19 -4422) provides that the
City Board of Directors shall adopt an-:annual budget for the operation of the
City government for the fiscal year , the City Manager has prepared a preliminary
budget and the Board of Directors has studied , reviewed , and revised said pro-
posed budget , and it is the opinion of the City Board of Directors that the
schedules and exhibits of financial information prepared and reviewed revealing
anticipated revenues and expenditures for the fiscal year appear to be accurate
for budgetary purposes ,
NOW , THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS :
SECTION 1 . This . Ordinance shall be known as the Budget Ordinance for the
City of Fayetteville , Arkansas for the fiscal year 1970 , reflecting estimated
revenues and expenditures as herein set forth . All appropriations are authorized
pending available resources including revenues and fund balances .
SECTION 2 . The following amounts of funds for each department are hereby
approved by the City Board of Directors of Fayetteville , Arkansas and are hereby
authorized and appropriated for the purposes set forth for the 1970 fiscal year .

SECTION 3 . Whereas , by reason of the fact that the cities of Arkansas are
required by law to adopt an annual budget for each fiscal year in order to
operate the City government ; now therefore an emergency is hereby declared
to exist and this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the
public peace , health , and safety , shall take effect and be in force from and
after its passage and approval .
