AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 9 - 27 OF THE FAYETTEVILLE CODE OF
ORDINANCES TO PERMIT USE OF FIREWORKS ON CERTAIN DAYS :
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE .,
ARKANSAS :
SECTION 1 . That Section 9 - 27 of the Fayetteville Code of
Ordinances is hereby amended to read as follows :
" SEC . 9 - 27 . SAME - AMENDMENTS , DELETIONS AND MODIFICATIONS .
( 1 ) Article XV of the Arkansas Fire Prevention Code shall
be amended by adding the following sections :
SECTION 1502 . EXPLOSION OF FIREWORKS .
( a ) Fireworks may be exploded on July 2nd , 3rd , 4th
and 5th of each calendar year . It shall be unlawful
for any person , firm or corporation to explode to
cause to be exploded any firecrackers , roman candles ,
skyrockets , or any other fireworks within the corporate
limits of the City of Fayetteville , on any other day of
the year without having first obtained the prior written
consent of the mayor specifying the time , place and
duration of such explosions or pyrotechnical exhibitions.
( b ) Any person , firm or corporation violating any part of
subsection ( a ) of this section shall be deemed guilty of
a misdemeanor , and upon conviction thereof be fined in
an amount not less than five dollars ( $ 5 . 00 ) nor more
than twenty - five dollars ( $ 25 . 00 ) .
SECTION 2 . That this ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage , approval and publication .
