CIRCUIT CLERK WHEREAS , a public hearing was held before the Planning Commission of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas on December 3 , 1968 , on the petition of Johnie Bassett , requesting that said Planning Commission recommend to the Board of Directors of the City of Fayette - ville , Arkansas , that the Board of Directors enact and ordinance re - zoning the following described property presently zoned A - 1 , Annexed Territory District , to C - 2 , Thoroughfare Commercial District , to - wit : Part of the Southwest Quarter ( SW 1 / 4 ) of the Northeast Quarter ( NE 1 / 4 ) of Section 7 , Township 16 North , Range 30 West , described as beginning at a point 864 . 7 feet more or less East of and forty ( 40 ) feet more or less north of the Southwest corner of said 40 acre tract and running thence East 180 feet more or less , to the West line of Giles Road ; thence North 300 feet more or less , thence West 150 feet more or less , to the East right of way line of the Highway By - Pass , thence in a Southern direction along said right of way of Highway 71 By - Pass 300 feet more or less to the point of beginning . and , WHEREAS , notice of said public hearing , setting forth the date , time , place and purposes of said hearing and location of the property was published in the Northwest Arkansas Times , a newspaper of general circulation in said city , more that 15 days prior to said public hearing , and WHEREAS , following said public hearing , said Planning Commission certified to the Board of Directors of the City of Fayetteville , its recommendation that an ordinance be adopted rezoning the above - describ - ed property , presently zoned A - 1 , Annexed Territory District , to C - 2 , Thoroughfare Commercial District . NOW , THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS : SECTION 1 . That the above - described property , which is pre - sently zoned A - 1 , Annexed Territory District , be and the same is hereby rezoned to C - 2 , Thoroughfare Commercial District . SECTION 2 .
