AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2 OF ORDINANCE NO , 1167 , AS AMENDED BY
ORDINANCE NO , 1223 AND 1295 , AND MORE PARTICULARLY INCREASING THE
ANNUAL FRANCHISE TAX OF THE SOUTHWESTERN BELL TELEPHONE COMPANY .
WHEREAS , it is the desire of the Board of Directors of the City
of Fayetteville , Arkansas , to increase the annual franchise tax of
the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company ,
NOW , THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS :
SECTION 1 . That Section 2 , of Ordinance No . 1167 , as amended
by Ordinances No . 1223 and 1295 , is hereby amended to read as follows ,
to-wit :
" Section 2 . That commencing January 1 , 1968 and there-
after , the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company shall
pay to the City for the period of January 1 through
December 31 , on or before the first day of March , the
sum of Twenty- Five Thousand Dollars ( $ 25 , 000 . 00 ) . "
SECTION 2 . That all ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed .
