AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE SALARY OF THE MUNICIPAL JUDGE OF THE
CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS , AND AMENDING FAYETTEVILLE
CODE OF ORDINANCES , SECTION 14- 3 .
WHEREAS , by Act 278 of 1967 , Acts of Arkansas , the General
Assembly has authorized the Municipal Judge of the City of Fay-
etteville , Arkansas , to receive an annual salary in the sum of
$ 11 , 500 . 00 , upon the approval of the County Court of Washington
County and the Board of Directors of the City of Fayetteville ,
Arkansas , and
WHEREAS , by reason of the increased work load of the Munici -
pal Court in recent years , and the stead increase in the cost
of living , the Board of Directors deem resent salary of the
Municipal Judge inadequate to compensate said officer for the
work and services required of his office and believe it is in
the public interest to increase said officers salary to the
amount authorized by the General Assembly , and
WHEREAS , the County Judge of Washington County , Arkansas
has approved said increase in salary .
NOW , THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS :
SECTION 1 , That Section 14 - 3 of the Fayetteville Code of
Ordinances is hereby amended to read :
Sec . 14 - 3 . Same -Salary .
The annual salary of the Municipal Judge is hereby fixed
at Eleven Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ( $ 11 , 500 . 00 )
which salary shall be payable in twelve ( 12 ) equal monthly
installments .
S CTION 2 . That said salary change shall be effective as
of ,� 1967 .
!! SECTION 3 . That all ordinances or parts of Ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed , and this Ordinance shall
be in full force and effect from and after its passage , approval
and publication . �/v�
