AN ORDINANCE DISSOLVING STREET IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO . 56 OF
THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS , AND TERMINATING THE BENEFIT
ASSESSMENTS PRESENTLY BEING LEVIED IN SAID DISTRICT .
WHEREAS , by Ordinance No . 951 , the City Council of the City
of Fayetteville , Arkansas , established Street Improvement Dis -
trict No . 56 , and by Ordinances No . 973 and 981 , the City Coun-
cil levied assessment for benefits in the Street Improvement
District No . 56 and provided for annual assessment and collec-
tion thereafter until the whole of said local assessment was
paid in full , and
WHEREAS , a petition was filed with the Board of Directors
of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas , on January 25 , 1967 , by
the Commissioners of Street Improvement District No . 56 , report-
ing that the bonded indebtedness of said District had been re-
tired and that all refunds of surplus assessments had been sub-
stantially completed , and that the only funds remaining to the
credit of the District are those necessary to wind up the af-
fairs of the District , and
WHEREAS , said petition requests that the Board of Directors
of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas , enact an ordinance dis -
solving Street Improvement District No . 56 , of Fayetteville ,
Arkansas , and removing and terminating the benefit assessment
presently levied against the real property in said District .
NOW , THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS :
SECTION 1 , Street Improvement District No . 56 of the City
of Fayetteville , Arkansas , is hereby dissolved and the benefit
assessments presently being levied against the real property in
said District for the purpose of retiring the bonded indebted-
ness of said District are hereby terminated and removed .
SECTION 2 . A copy of this Ordinance duly certified by the
City Clerk shall be filed in the Office of the County Collector
of Washington County , Arkansas .
SECTION 3 . That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed , and this Ordinance shall
be in full force and effect from and after its passage , approval
and publication .
