WHEREAS , by Ordinance No . 1017 the City Counc1i 'W tiheoCiV of
Fayetteville , Arkansas , established Street Improvement� IDi=strict_FNi;* 57
for the purpose of draining , grading , paving , curbing and guttering
Lindell Street from a point 234 feet North of the North line of Douglas
Street to the South line of York Street .
WHEREAS , by Ordinance No . 1020 the City Council of the City of
Fayetteville , Arkansas , levied an assessment for benefits in Street
improvement District No . 57 for 1952 and annually thereafter until the
whole of said local assessment be paid .
WHEREAS , a petition was filed with the City Council of the City of
Fayetteville , Arkansas on January 11 , 19659 by the Commissioners of Street
Improvement District No . 57 , reporting that the bonded indebtedness of the
said District has been fully retired and no bonds or coupons attached thereto
remain outstanding , that there are no delinquent taxes for 1963 and prior
years , that the full assessment for 1961 , 1962 , 1963 and 1964 have become
surplus and been refunded to the property owners of the District on a pro
rata basis pursuant to Arkansas Statutes Annotated Section 20-231 and 20=
232 , and that there are at present no funds to the credit of said District ,
and ,
WHEREAS , said petition requests that the City Council of the City
of Fayetteville , Arkansas , enact an ordinance dissolving Street Improve-
ment District No . 57 , of Fayetteville , Arkansas and removing and terminating
the benefit assessment presently levied against the real property in said
District .
NOW , THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE$ ARKANSAS :
SECTION 1 . Street Improvement District No . 57 of the City of
Fayetteville , Arkansas is hereby dissolved and the benefit assessments
presently being levied against the real property in said District for
the purpose of retiring the bonded indebtedness of said District are
hereby terminated and removed .
SECTION 2 . A copy of this Ordinance duly certified by the City
Clerk shall be filed in the office of the County Collector of Washington
County , ,Arkansase
SECTION 3 . That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed , and this Ordinance shall be in force and
effect from and after its passage , approval and publication .
