AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1239 AND REVISED
ZONING DISTRICT MAP OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS, APPROVED MAY 28,
1962, TO PROVIDE THAT NEWLY ANNEXED TERRITORY SHALL COME IN
ZONED 0- 1 OPEN LAND DISTRICT.

Gentlemen :
I have decided that the ordinance passed Monday night ,
regarding the zoning of annexed areas as 0- 1 , would cause
many problems in the future . I believe that the ordinance
should be written as suggested by our city planner , Mr . Vizzier .
I am sure some of you do realize the possibility of
repercussions on such an ordinance , regardless of how it
might be worded . I have talked with several of the council-
men, and I think it is the intention of all concerned that we
do have a zoning ordinance on all annexed areas , but that it
is impossible to have an ordinance that will cover any area
regarding the different classifications .
So it is with this in mind that I am vetoing Ordinance
No . 42 , passed Monday , November 9 , and have instructed
our City Attorney to submit an ordinance as outlined by Mr .
Vizzier at the next regular meeting on November 23 .
