WHEREAS ; a public hearing was held before the Planning k,V6' 1ofi of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas , on June 26 , 1962 , on the petition of G. C � 1hQ�ii �J' irp4uesting that said Planning Commission recommend to the City. Council of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas , that said City Council enact . an ordinance rezoning the property described .as follows , to- wit: A part of the Southwest Quarter ( SW 1 / 4) of the Southwest Quarter (SW 1 / 4) of Section 16 , Township 16 North , Range 30 West, beginning at a point 737 . 2 feet South of the North- west corner of said 40 - acre tract, and running thence South 200 feet to the right - of- way line of United StatesHighway Sixty- two (62) ; thence East 160 feet along the right- of- way line of said highway to the intersection of Garland Avenue ( East Stadium Road) ; thence North 10 degrees and 25 minutes West 210 . 59 feet , more or less , along the West line of Garland Avenue (East Stadium Road) ; thence West 105 . 87 feet, more or less , to the point of beginning , from R - 2 Two -family Residential District to C- 2 Thoroughfare Commercial. District , and WHEREAS , notice of said public hearing , setting forth the date , time , place and purposes of hearing , and location of property was published in the Northwest Arkansas Times , a newspaper of general circulation in said City more than 15 days prior to said public hearing , and WHEREAS , following said public hearing , said Planning Commission certified to the City Council of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas , its recommendation that an ordinance be adopted rezoning the above - described property from R - 2 Two- family Residential District to C - 2 Thoroughfare Commercial District . NOW , THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS: SECTION 1 . That the above - described property be rezoned from R - 2 Two- family Residential District to C- 2 Thoroughfare Commercial District . SECTION 2 .
