AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING DUCK AND GOOSE HUNTING ON THE CITY
WATER SUPPLY RESERVOIRS AND /AR LAKE 1PROVIDING FOR THE PROMULGATIM,
OF RULES AND REGULATIONJAND FOR OTI&R PURPOSES ,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE,
ARKANSAS:
Section 1 . Subject to the rules and regulations to be adopted in the manner hereinafter
set forth, it shall be lawful to hunt ducks and geese in the City reservoirs used
for water supply in Washington County, Arkansas ,
Section 2 . Hunting for ducks and geese on said Lakeb, shall be permitted at the times
and in the manner hereafter authorized by motion or resolution of the City Council of
the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas , having due regard for the rules and regulations
of the Board of Health of the State of Arkansas and of the recommendations of the
Arkansas State Game and Fish Commission, the Federal and State Game Laws ,
Section 3 . The City of Fayetteville from time to time shall by resolution or motion
promulgate all necessary rules and regulations in connection with the use of said
Lakes for hunting ducks and geese and all necessary rules and regulations with
respect to the time hunting may be permitted and the methods which hunting may be
permitted on said Lakes , and to provide such other rules and regulations in connection
with hunting activities on said Lake9as may from time to time be desirable , in-
cluding the fixing of permit fees and such other matters and things as the City of
Fayetteville may deem advisable and proper .

RULES AND REGULATIONS
GOVERNING
HUNTING DUCKS & GEESE ON CITY OWNED
WATER SUPPLY RESERVOIRS AND/ OR LAKES
In accordance with provisions of Ordinance No . passed and
approved by the City Council of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas , on
1960 , the following rules and regulations are hereby
approved by the City Council governing the hunting of ducks and geese on
reservoirs and/ or lakes owned by the City of Fayetteville and used for water
supplies .
1 . Annual re - approval required: These rules and regulations are effective
only for the hunting season of 1960 - 1961 . Each succeeding season shall
require the re- approval of the City Council by motion, such re - approval may
be for any one or more reservoirs and lakes used as water supplies for the
City of Fayetteville .
2 . Game to be killed: Only ducks and geese of the species permitted to be
killed by Federal and State Laws shall be killed.
3 . Season: The hunting season shall confitm to Federal and State Laws
governing the hunting of ducks and geese , except that no hunting is permitted
on Sunday.
4. Hours . The hours in which ducksand eese may be shall conform
to Federal and StateLaw �

5 . Persons authorized . Any person 16 years old and older are authorized to
hunt providing they have all necessary permits , licenses and authorizations
required in advance of hunting , except that if in the judgment of the lake
operators a person appears to be under the influence of intoxicants or is physically
incompetent , a person may be denied to hunt on the City Premises .

6 . City Permit Required: In addition to Federal and .State permits , licenses ,
etc . required each person is required to secure a City Permit on the preceding
day before hunting . The City Permit for each person hunting shall be good for

7 . Use of Boats: If boats are used in hunting ducks and geese , all Federal
and State Laws shall be observed. To operate a boat on City owned water supply
lakes requires a boat permit in accordance with Fishing and Boating Regulations
as adopted by the City of Fayetteville .
8 . Restricted Areas : At Lake Fayetteville no hunting is permitted west of a
line parallel to and one-fourth mile East of the dam. At Lake Sequoyah no
hunting is permitted below the county road bridge near the boat docks .
9 . Blinds . Blinds may be constructed with permission providing they will be
removed on or before the close of the season.
10 . Bag Limits . Bag limits shall be in accordance with Federal and State
Laws ,

Sanitation on lake areas . Keeping in mind the purpose for which the lakes
were constructed and are being used for , the strictest rules shall be observed
in preventing unsanitary conditions to develop on the shores and in the water of
these lakes . No debris , cans , bottles , trash and other matter shall be deposited
in the water or on the property of the City. All State Health Department
Regulations governing water supply reservoirs shall be strictly observed.

'a. k3 , Safety Rules . All persons hunting shall use diligent rules governing
safety and shall be extremely cautious at all times . Each hunter shall assume
responsibility for any personal and property damage he may create or cause .
0. Revoking Permits , The City of Fayetteville reserves the right to revoke
any permit when by the action of any person holding a permit in which it is
clearly demonstrated that said person willfully and purposely violated any of
these rules and regulations . When a permit is revoked, no refund will be
due the holder of the permit.
