AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING .THE USE OF LOUDSPEAKERS, AMPLIFIERS ,
OR OTHER DEVICES FOR PRODUCING OR REPRODUCING SOUNDS FOR THE
PURPOSE OF COMMERCWL ADVERTISING OR ATTRACTING ATTENTION;
PROVIDING PENALTIES THEREFOR AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES ,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE ,
ARKANSAS :
Section 1 . That the following acts , are hereby declared 'to be loud, disturbing
and unnecessary noises and in violation of this ordinance , to-wit:
A. 'Loud Speakers , Amplifiers for Advertising . ' The using , operating or
permitting to be played, used, or operated of any radio receiving set , musical
instrument , phonograph, loudspeaker , sound amplifier , or other machine or
device for the producing or reproducing of sound which is cast from a point of
origin located on private property upon the-public ' streets for the purposeof
commercial advertising or attracting the attention of the puhlic to any building

or structure . '
Section 2 . That any person, firr:, or corpoaation violating the poovisions 'of
this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction
thereof shall be fined in any sum not less than $ 1 . 00 nor more than $25 . 00 and
each day that such violation continues shall constitute a separate offense and
shall be punishable in an amount not legs than $ 1 . 00 nor exceeding $ 15 . 00 per
day,
Section 3 , All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are here -
by repealed and it appearing that the making , creatiah or miintenance of such
loud, unnecessary, unnatural or; unusual noises which are prolonged,. unusual
and unnatural in. their ti=ne , plaec and use affect and are a detriment to* the public
health',' comfort; convenience , . safety;'. welfare. and prosperity, of the resident;
citizens, of the City ;of Fayett'eville , ,Arkansas , _an emergency :is liereby declared
