AN 02DINANCE AiMNDPIG SECTIONS 1 AND 2 OF ORDINANCE NTt•BER 1059, PASSED AND
APPROPL'D DECEINMER 28 , 1953: AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTMLLE, AR v:NSAS :
Section 1 . That Section 1 of Ordinance Number 1059, passed and approved
December 23 , 1953 , be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows :
Section 1. That a license fee for the privilege of operating a motor
vehicle or trailer on the streets and alleys of the City of Fayetteville,
Arkansas , be assessed according to the following schedule , to-wit:

Section 2 : That Section 2 of Ordinance Number 1059, passed and approved
December 28 , 1953 , be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows :
Section 2 . That the license tax assessed in Section 1 of this
ordinance is for the period beginning January 1, 1958 and ending

September 30, 1956 , and is due and payable after January 1 , 19559 and
on or before February 28 , 1958 . If a vehicle subject to the license
tax as hereinabove set forth is purchased or otherwise acquired after
February 28 , 1955 , the fractional. license . tax as provided above shall
become due and payable within ten ( 10 ) days from the date of purchase
or acquisition and satisfactory evidence of the date of such purchase
or acquisitionshall be presented at the time of application for motor
vehicle license .
Section 3 . That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith be
and'tTie same are hereby repealed . This ordinance being necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public health, peace and safety, an emergency is
hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after passage , approval and publication .
