AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 4 OF ORDINANCE NO. 1014,
PASSED AND APPROVED JANUARY 2 , 19529 AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES ,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTE -
VILLE , ARKANSAS:
Section 1 . That Section 4 of Ordinance No . 1014, passed and approved
January 2 , 1952, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows :
Section 4. That Section 2 . 1 . 3 shall be added to the Arkansas State
Plumbing Code and adopted by the City of Fayetteville as follows :
Sec . 2 . 1 . 3 . Applications , Permits .
a. Before beginning any plu''mbing work in the City of -, . Fayetteville ,
the person installing same shall apply to the Plumbing Inspector ,
or other designated official and obtain a permit to do such work .
Only those persons authorized to do plumbing may be issued permits .
A permit may be issued to a : property owner to install plumbing in
a single family residence provided the property owner does the
work himself and the building is owned and occupied by such owner
as his home; provided, however , that such work must be completed
within strict compliance with the requirements of this code .
b . Said plumbing 'permit shall require a fee payable to the City. of
Fayetteville , computed - as follows : First fixture $2 . 00 , next five
fixtures $ 1 , 00 each , all additional fixtures 50ยข each . Plumbing
permits or service connection permits shall be granted only to
a licensed ,master plumber or his authorized representative; except
as provided above in this ordinance .
c . All railroads now serving the City of Fayetteville , Lrkansas ,
employing their own qualified crews for plumbing, work on property
owned by the railroad concerned are hereby exempt from the re -
quirements of this section except that such plumbing work must be
subject to inspection and approval by the City Plumbing Inspector
and the permit fees described in paragraph b. above shall be paid as
herein provided.
Section 2 . That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
ardrhereby repealed and this ordinance being necessary for the public
health and safety , an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordin-
ance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
