RND r40Wi00wS hW9M0V0Re#f*401f&N0F V6dk,¢SEDICE. r/REDFiirE.vJEnl WHEREAS, the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas , is a city of the first class and is authorized by Amendment 31 to the Constituition of the State of Arkansas to levy an annual tax of not to exceed one mill on the dollar upon the assesse& walue of the real and personal property of such city for the purpose of paying hrernen retirement pensions , and pensions to the widows and minor children of (deceased firemen and widows and minor children of deceased retired firemen; and WHEREAS , a judiciously administeredpension fund would be a potent agency for securing and retaining be services of the most faithful and effie :ent class of men;466nnected with a department of municipal service in which every property owner and resident of this city us most vitally interested , and WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the members of the. . City Council of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas , that it is for the best interest of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas , that such a pension fund be established , NOW THEREFORE, BE IT 'KESOLV ED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAY'ETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS : Section 1 . That there shall . be submi*- d to the qualified voters of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas , at the next general el ction to be held on the 5th day of November , 1957 , the question of the levy of an annual tax of nct more than one mill on the dollar upon the assessed value of the real and personal property within the city for the purpose of paying pensions to retired firemen, and pensions to widows and minor children of deceased firemen and .vidows and minor children of deceased retired firemen.
