AN ORDINANCE PRESCRIBING THE DUTIES OF THE MAYOR -OF FAYETTEVILLE ,
ARKANSAS', FIXING THE SALARY OF THE MAYOR , AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES .
WHEREAS , the terms of Mayors of Cities of the First
Class: expire on December 31st in odd years;, and by statutes. adopted ,
the emoluments of the office of the Mayor can be neither increased or
diminished for the term for which he was elected, and,
WHEREAS , it is the desire of the City Council of the
City of Fayetteville , Arkansas to provide compensation to the Mayor of
the City of Fayetteville , Arkansam in an amount at least equal to the
average salaries received by the mayors in other cities of comparable
size in the state of Arkansasx
NOW , THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF FAYEPTEVILLE , ARKANSAS :
SECTION 1. The short title of this ordinance shall.

SECTION 2 . The Mayor of the City of Fayetteville ,
Arkansas shall perform such duties, as are prescribed by law for Mayors
of Cities of the First Class having: -an aldermanic form of government ,
and such duties as he is at present performing for the City of
Fayetteville , Arkansas.
SECTION S. The salary of the Mayor of the City of
Fayetteville , Arkansas �s hereby fixed at O Y8D o, 00 per year , may
beginning on January 1 , 1958 at the time a new term begins, which
salary shall be full compensation for all services required to be
performed by the Mayor of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansaa.
SECTION 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed , and it appearing that the next
terfir of the Mayor of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansaswill begin on
January 1 , 1958 , and it being the intention that this ordinance shall
take effect at the same time that the term beginsy this ordinance
shall be in full force and effect on and aftecr January 1 , 1958 .
