AN ORDINANCE AMENDING UNNUMBERED PARAGRAPH SEVENTEEN ( 17 ) eF SECTION
SEVEN ( 7 ) OF ORDINANCE NO . 577 OF THE ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF FAY- '
ETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES :
WHEREAS , the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas does not now have a
'a standard uniform• Building Code and,
WHEREAS, existing building ordinances of the City of Fayetteville,
,Arkansas, do not permit the use of certain materials and methods of
construction which are approved and allowed by the Arkansas Inspection
and Rating Bureau, 6 and
NE EREAS, the Arkansas Inspection and Rating Bureau uses the
National Building Code for inspection and rating of constructionwithin
the fire limits tXe provisions as set forth in Article IV, Section 401
of the 1949 Edition of said Code , and
WHEREAS, it is desirable that _th_ e building ordinances for construction
within the fire_ limits;be=amended,-
NOW THEREFORE ,BE IT -RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ,
ARKANSAS:
1. That the seventeenth unnumbered paragraph of Section Seven
( 7 ) of' ',
Ordinance No. 577 of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas be amended, as
follows :
Gasoline service stations, parking lot offices , real estate offices ,
or similar business structures, of unprotected metal construction,
not exceeding 29500 square feet in area , nor more than one story in
height, , and located at least 10 feet from lot lines. . If erected
less than 10 feet from the adjoining lot line, the walls facing. such`, ' "
lot lines shall have afire resi±tance of not less than one' hour, as

2 . All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed and- this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation
of the public •health , peace and saf tey, an emergency is hereby declared
to exist and this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and approval,
