AN ORDIRA14CE EXTENDING THE FIRST FIRE 'LONE IN THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE , A,RKA1'SAS AND , FOR OTHER PURPOSES WHEREAS , United States Highway No . 71 By-Pass through the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas, is one of the most heavily travelled thoroughfares in the City; and VHEREAS , it is anticipated that nen businesses and establishments grill be erected 'along said thoroughfare , ' _ NOC1, THEREFORE DE IT ORDAID D BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLES ARKANSAS : C Sectionl . That 'the First Fire Zone of the City of Fayetteville ; Arkansas ids re extended so as to include the real estate bounded as follows : 7 c4 F Therat F ne shal a exto to i r• d scri property he C1 of Faye eville : g �. �q Beginning -at the present fire zone limits , at a point on the North line of East Rock Street which is 200 feet east of East line of South College Avenue thence south along the east side of an alley 200 feet east of the east line of south College Avenue to the center line extended of East South Street , thence west along the center line extended of east South Street to the center line of south East Avenue , thence south along the center line of south East Avenue to. the center line of west Fourth Street ( formerly west First Street ) , thence West along the center line rest Fourth Street to the center line os South Block Avenue , thence south along center line of South Block Avenue to the center line of west Fifth Street, thence west along the center line of west Fifth Street extended to the intersection of the present first fire zone limits at a point . 150 feet east of the east lino of South School Avenue , thence north along the present fire limits parallel and 150 feet east of the east line of south School Avenue to the north line of west Rock Street at the present fire limits, thence East ivith the present fire limits along the north line of Rock Street to the point of beginning . It appearing that there are numerous proposals for the construction of Fr buildings in the a ',ove described area and that public convenience and necessity require that this ordinance be effective immediately and that such busi— ness buildings should be constructed in accordance with building regulations- appli— cable to the first Fire 'Lone in order to protect public health, peace and safety; an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance shall - be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
