AN ORDINANCE PRESCRIBING THE DUTIES OF THE CITY CLERK, MUNICIPAL JUDGE, AND
THE CITY ATTORNEY OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS, FIXING THE SALARIES
OF EACH , AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES .
WHEREAS, the terms of - City Clerks , Municipal 'Judges and City Attorneys
of cities of the First Class expire on December 31 in even numbered years ,
_ and by Statutes adopted, the emoluments of the offices of City Clerk, Muni-
cipal Judge and City,Attomey can, neither 'be increased •nor diminished for
the term for which each wasfelected, ' andy )
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council of the City of Fayetteville,
Arkansas, to provide compensation to the City Clerk, Municipal Judge and City
Attorney of Fayetteville , Arkansas , in an amount at least equal to the average
salaries received by City Clerks , Municipal Judges and City .Attorneys in other
cities of comparable size in the State of Arkansas;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE ,
Section 1. The City Clerk of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas , shall
perform such duties as are prescribed by law for City 'Clerks of cities . of the
First Class having an aldermanic form of government and such duties as he is
at present performing for the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas .
Section 2 . The Municipal . Judge of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas ,
shall perform such -duties as 'are prescribed by law for Municipal Judges of
cities of the First Class having an aldermanic form of government and such
duties as he is at present performing for the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas .
Section 3 . . The City Attorney of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas,
shall perform such .duties : as are . prescribed by law' for City Attorneys of ci-
ties of the First Class having an aldermanic form of . government and such duties
as he is at present performing for the _ City of Fayetteville, Arkansas ,.
Section 4. The salary of the City Clerk of the City of Fayetteville,
Arkansas , is hereby fixed at $250. 00 per month, beginning January 1, 1953 , at
the time a new term begins , which salary shall be full compensation for all
services required to be performed by the City Clerk of the City of Fayette-
ville, Arkansas ,
Section 5 . . The salary of the Municipal Judge of the City of Fayetteville ,
Anicansas , is hereby fixed at $300. 00 per month, beginning January 1, 1953 , at
the time a new term begins, which salary shall be full compensation for all
services required to be performed by the Municipal Judge of the City of Fay-
. etteville , Arkansas .

Section 6. The salary of the City Attorney of the City of Fayetteville,
Arkansas , is hereby fixed at $150. 00 per month, beginning January . l, 1953 , * at
the time a new term begins, which salary shall be full compensation ' for all
services required to be performed by the City Attorney of -the City of Fayette-
ville, Arkansas .

Section 7 . All Ordinancespor •parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed, and it appearing that the new termsof the City Clerk,
Municipal Judge and .City Attorney o£, the City of .Fayetteville . will begin on -
January 1, 1e19532 and •ii being the intention - that .this Ordinance .shall take
effect at :the same .time that 'the' term begins ; this _Ordinance shall be in full
force and effect on and after January 1, 1953 • ---� 1
