AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING 1HE EXPLOSION OF FIRECRACKERS, ROMAN CANDLES , SKY-
ROCKETS, AND ALL OTHER FIREWORKS WITHIN THE OORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS :
Section 1 . That hereafter it shall be unlawful- for any person, firm or
corporation .to explode or . cause to be . expioded'. any 'fire' craokers , ., romIan can -
dles , skyrockets , and all other fireworks within the corporate limits of the
City of Fayetteville , Arkansas , without having first obtained the prior writ-
ten consent of the Mayor of the City of Fayetteville specifying the time,
place and duration of said explosions or pycotechnieal exhibitions .
Section 2 . Any person, firm or corporation violating any part of Section
1 of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon convic-
tion thereof shall be fined in any sum not less than Five Dollars ( $5 . 00) , nor .
more than Twenty-five Dollars ( $25 .00 ) .
Section 3 . All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith -
are hereby repealed .
Section 4 . It appearing that a serious water shortgage exists within the
corporate limits of the ' City of Fayetteville , Arkansas , and it further appear-
ing that additional fire prevention measures . are needed to conserve this limi-
ted water supply, and that the public welfare, health and safety are in danger, •
an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this Ordinance shall be in full
force and effect from and after its passage and approval .
PASSED and APPROVED this 27 day of October , 1952 .
