HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 1026 ORDIMNCE NO. 1026 AIN ORDINANGE DESIGNATING NORTH AND SOUTH THOROUGHFARES AS "AVENUES" AMID EAST AND HEST THOROUGHFARES AS "STREETS " ';dITHIN This CORPORATE I,IM.IITS OF 4H, CITY OF' F'AMTEVII,LE , All-KANSAS YIM AS , corfusion has arisen by the fact that there ase many thoroughfares running east and wrest mrithin the Fayetteville City Limits , which are designa- ted both as "avenues " and "streets" , and that there are many thoroughfares tannin; north and south within the Fayetteville City Limits , vhich are desig- nated both as "avenues " and "streets" . NW; THEREFMEP BE IT omoftrTD By THE CITY CMNCIL OF TIE CITY OF FAYETTEVILI Section 1. That all tho.oughfares now, or , hereafter platted, which run in an east an west direction through the corporate limits of the City of Fayettevil-le , Arkansas , shall be designated as "streets " , and all thorouL•hfares now, or here- after platted, which run in a north and south direction through the corporate limits of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas , shall be designated as , "avenues " . Section 2 . That this Ordinance shall not be construed so as to prohibit the use o Fuc escriptivo names as "boulevard" , fidrive " , "road" , "waylt , "trail" , etc . , which might be used indiscriminately as a direction of the thoroughfare . ' Section 3. That this Ordinance shall in no way be deemed a,:)plicable to any alleys o-r al•I-yivays . Section 4* That all Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed .
