THE MAYOR, CITY CLERK AND FIRE' CHIEF, TO ENTER INTO MUTUAL AID AGRFEMENTS WITH OTHEP. MUNICIPALITIES ; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES WHEREAS , there is a great loss and destruction by fire of property located outside the corporate limits of our city, and 19HEREAS , many of these fires endanger property located within the corporate limits of our municipality, and 1WHEREAS , there will be mutual benefit and protection for the city and its neighboring cities • by entering into mutual aid. agreements , and Pn=AS, the General Assembly of the State of Arkansas has authorized sending fire equipment outside the corporate limits by Act No . 270 of 1951 , and has authorized mutual aid agreements by Act No . 23 of 1949, NOW THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSASo SECTION 1 . No fire department apparatus shall be taken beyond the corporate limits of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas , to assist at any fire or for any other purpose , except by order of the Mayor or Fire Chief , and- subjectto the, restrictions and conditions hereinafter . set forth . SECTION 2 , The Mayor or Fire Chief are authorized, in their discretion, to aid in the extinguishing of fires in another city .or town, public institutions , corporations , or other property within a reasonable distance from the City of Fayetteville or on property immediately adjacent to the city in which there is a possibility of fire spreading Tdithin the corporate limits , under the following c onditions : A . A request from a city or incorporated town for. assistance must come only from the Mayor , Fire Chief or such other person as may be designated by mutial agreement . B . Calls may be responded to only by such apparatus which in the judgment of the Mayor or Fire Chief can be safely sent without unduly impairing the fire protection within the city, and when highways and weather conditions are favorable . SECTION 3 . Unless there exists a mutual aid agreement , every municipality, institution, corporation or individual requesting and receiving such service of the Fire Department of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas , will be informed of the cost to the City of the services rendered in answering such fire calls . All payments of such cost will be made to the Municipal Treasury , SECTION 40 All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed . SECTION 5.
