AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF SEVEN THOUSAND , TWO HUNDRED SIXTY TWO
DOLLARS AND FORTY CENTS (S-7-3 9 40 ) TO BE USED FOR PURCHASING TWO ONE AND ONE-HALF
TON TRUCKS FOR THE SANITATION DEPARTMENT AT A COST OF THREE THOUSAND , EIGHT. HUNDRED
FIFTY FIVE DOLLARS ($3055 . 00 ) ; ONE THREE-QUARTER TON TRUCK FOR THE WATER DEPARTMENT
AT A COST OF ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1 , 000 . 00 ) ; ONE ONE-HALF TON TRUCK FOR THE STREET
DEPARTMENT AT A COST OF ONE THOUSAND , FOUR HUNDRED TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS ($1 , 1425 . 00 ) ; .
AND ONE TWO DOOR , SIX PASSENGER CLUB COUPE FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AT A COST OF NINE
HUNDRED EIGHTY TWO DOLLARS AND FORTY CENTS ($982 . 140 ) , AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES .
WHEREAS , The Sanitation Department o£ the . City of Fayetteville , Arkansas is in
need of two one and one-half ton trucks ; the Water Department of the City of
Fayetteville , Arkansas is in need of one three-quarter ton truck ; the Street Depart-
ment of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas is in need of one one-half ton truck ;
and the Fire Department of the City of Fayetteville , -Arkansas is in need of one
two door, six passenger club coupe by reason of the fact that the present equipment
is worn beyond repair and the functions of the Sanitation, Water, Street, and Fire
Departments of the City of Fayetteville cannot be maintained without the purchase
of said vehiclesq
NOW, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS :
Section 1 . That the following sums are hereby appropriated for the purpose
of purchasing four trucks and one automobile :
Sanitation Fund $3, 855 . 00 Two 12 ton trucks
Water Dept. Fund 11000. 00 One 3/4 ton truck
Street Dept . Fund 1 , 1425 . 00 One 1/2 ton truck
Fire Dept. Fund 982 . 140 One 2 door, 6 passenger
club coupe
Section 2 . The Board of Public Affairs is hereby directed to advertise for
bids for said vehicles as set forth in their recommendation and to proceed with
the awarding of a contract and the purchase . of said vehicles as provided by
Section 19-1022 et seq and to arrange for delivery of said vehicles at the
earliest possible time .
Section 3 . This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and
after its passage .

Section 9 . This Ordinance being necessary for the immediate preservation
of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is hereby declared, and
this Ordinance shall be in Hill force and effect from and after its passage,
approval and publication.
