AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE No . 910 OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE ,
ARKANSAS REGULATING AND FIXING FARES OR TARIFFS TO BE CHARGED BY
PUBLIC PASSENGER CARRIER IN THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS PRE -
SCRIBING PENALTIES , AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES .
WHEREAS , all persons , firms and corporations operating taxicabs
in the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas have agreed and consented and
have shown cause• whereby the fares should be raised , and for their
other services , and
WHEREAS , the City Council of the City of Fayetteville has made
a careful study of rates and fares to be charged by taxicabs that
will give the public reasonable rates with a fair return to the taxi-
cab operators .
NOW , THEREFORE , be it ordained by the City Council of the City
of Fayetteville , Arkansas , that Section One of Ordinance 910 be
ai god to read as follows :
The taxicab fare for one person shall be 35 cents ; for two , 50
cents , and for each additional passenger 25 cents, from any one point
to any one point within an area bounded as follows :•
Beginning at the intersection of Garland Avenue and North
Street and running thence East along North Street to the
Southwest corner of the Southeast quarter ( SEi ) of the North-
east quarter ( NE-s ) , Section Nine ( 9 ) , Township Sixteen ( 16 ) ,

Range Thirty ( 30 ) st , being the intersection of North Street
with Woolsey Avenue , thence North along Woolsey Avenue a mile ;
thence East to the East side of the right - of -way of U . S .High-
way No . 71 , thence in a southerly direction with the said East
side of said right -of-way to North Street ; thence East along
North Street and North Street produced to the Northeast cor-
ner of the Northeast quarter ( NEJ ) of the Southwest quarter
( SWC ) of Section 10 ;, thence North in a Northeasterly direc -
tion along the West side of Highway 45 to the intersection of
the old Wire Road with Highway 45 ; thence across Highway 45
to the east side of the right - of -way of Highway 45 ; thence in
a southwesterly direction along the right - of-way of Highway
45 to the point where Highway 45 intersects the Northeast
corner of the Northeast quarter of the Southwest Quarter of
Section 10 ; thence South one and one -half miles to the South-
west corner of the Southeast Quarter ( SEJ ) of the Southwest
Quarter ( SW4 ) of Section Fifteen ( 15 ) ; thence West to the East
side of the right-of-way of U . S . Highway No . 71 , thence in a.
southerly direction with the East side of said right -of -way
mile , being the intersection of Highway No . 71 and Seventh
Street ; thence West across said Highway No . 71 to the West side
of the right -of-way of said Highway No . 71 ; thence along the
West side of said right - of - way in a northerly direction to
Fourth Street , thence West to the Southwest corner of the
Southwest quarter ( SWJ ) of the Southwest quarter ( SW`J ) of Sec -
tion Sixteen ( 16 ) , thence North to the intersection of Garland
Avenue and Dickson Street ; thence West to the intersection of
Razorback Road and Dickson Street ; thence North along the west
side of Razorback Road to the intersection of Razorback Road
and Cleveland ; thence East along the North side of Cleveland
Street to the intersection of Cleveland and North ;: thence North
to the place of beginning , all in Township Sixteen ( 16 ) North,

The fare fixed in this section shall be known as the base taxi-
cab fare and the above described area as the base area..
Section 2 . Each and every taxicab shall have displayed in said

cab a schedule of rates and a mapAthe base area..
Section 3 shall be amended to read as follows : The schedule of
taxicab fares for the numbers of persons shown are hereby fixed as
follows :

Section 4 . It appearing that the fixing of fares of taxicabs within the
Fayetteville city limits is immediately required , an emergency is hereby declared
to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage and approval.
