AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS FOR THE ERECTION OF
BUILDINGS WITH EIGHT INCH BRICK OR EIGHT INCH TILE WALLS AND REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE,
ARKANSAS :
Section 1. Where in present ordinances reference is made to the issuance
of permits for the erection of buildings with eight inch brick, eight inch
concrete block, eight inch tile or eight inch masonry walls where the area
is small and the height not more than one story, the term "Area" shall mean
a building having an inside floor space of not to exceed 400 square feet
and the outside of said eight inch walls shall be not closer than five feet
to property lines.
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed and it appearing that requirements of the City of Fayette-
ville as set forth in ordinances heretofore existing have created an undue
burden on the construction of buildings as defined in Section 1 of this
ordinance and have made unreasonable requirements not necessary for the
preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is hereby
declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its approval, passage and publication.
