AN ORDINANCE FIRING LICENSE FEES FOR THE OPERATION OF BOWLING ALLEYS IN
THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS, REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
THEREWITH, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES :
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE,
ARKANSAS : ,
Section 1. The annual license or tax for the privilege of operating
bowling alleys within the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas shall be _$15. 00
Iper annum for each alley up to and including four alleys and $7. 50 for
each additional alley over and above four alleys.
Section 2. The license or tax herein provided shall become due
on January lst in each year and shall be for the privilege of operating
said alley or alleys for a period of one year .
Section 3. No person, firm or corporation shall operate a bowling
alley in the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas without having first paid
the license or tax hereinabove provided and in the event the license
or tax is not paid as provided in Section 2 hereof, the person, firm or
corporation so operating such alley or alleys shall be guilty of a mis-
demeanor and upon conviction thereof, shall be fined in any sum not
exceeding $25 . 00 for each alley so operated in violation- of the terms
of this ordinance and each day of such operation shall be considered a
separate offense ,
Section 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict here-
with are hereby repealed and it appearing that on May 12, 1947 the City
Council fixed the rates. , provided in this ordinance and has actually
been licensing such alleys as herein provided since that time but that
no ordinance embodying the terms of the action of the Council was ever
adopted, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall
be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
