AN ORDINANCE PLACING THE WEST THREE HUNDRED FEET OF BLOCK A , MAPIDItOOD
ADDITION IN THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS WITHIN THE LIMITS OF THE
FIRST FIRE ZONE , AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES :
WHEREAS, Block A . of Maplewood Addition to the City of Fayetteville ,
Arkansas is bounded on the West by North College Avenue and the West one
hundred fifty feet of said Block A is presently within the limits of the
first fire zone , and,
WHEREAS, proposals have been made for the construction of buildings
with off street parking for the benefit of customers of occupants of said
buildings and if off street parking areas are provided, proposed structures
cannot be erected on the West 150 feet of said Block A, and,
WHEREAS , there are no buildings or structures located on the West 300
feet of said Block A and the Council finds and declares that the West 300
feet of said Block A is primarily business property and that structures
located thereon should be constructed in accordance with building regulations
applicable to buildings in the first fire zone .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS :
Section 1 . The West _300 feet of Block A of Maplewood Addition to the
City of Fayetteville , Arkansas is hereby included within the limits of the
first fire zone of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas and all structures
erected thereon shall comply, with building regulations applicable to structures
within the first fire zone .
Section 2 . It appearing that it is highly desirable that off street
parking facilities be provided on all business properties located on North
College Avenue in the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas and it further appearing
that in order to provide such facilities , it will be necessessary for the
preservation of the public health , peace and safety that the West 300 feet
of Block A, Maplewood Addition be included in the first fire zone , an
emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full
force and effect from and after its passage and approval .
