AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION OF ONE STORY ALL STEEL OR
METAL BUILDINGS IN CERTAIN AREAS VdTHIN THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS ,
REPEALING ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEF01ITH, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILIE, ARKANSAS :
Section 1 . On and after the effective date of this ordinance it shall
be lawful to erect or construct one story all steel or metal buildings , which
buildings shall have metal frames , metal window sash , metal doors and floor
space shall not exceed 2100 square feet in area but before said buildings
shall be constructed, plans and specifications and the location of such
building on the lots and the 'description of the lots shall be submitted to
the City Engineer and/or Building Inspector to determine that said building,
when constructed, will comply with the terms of this section of this Ordinance
and with Section 2 hereof .
Section 2. The buildings authorized to be constructed under Section 1
of this Ordinance may be erected only within an area between the center line
of any existing track of the St . Louis San Francisco Railway Company within
the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas and .a line 75 feet from and parallel to said
center line on either side of said track and lying between the North line
of Meadow Street extended and a line 200 feet South of the South line of
Dickson Street . The buildings as authorized in Section 1 hereof and in the area
limited in this section shall be built not closer than ten feet to any other
building and not closer than ten feet to the side property line of the lot
on which said building is located .
Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed, and it appearing that it is necessary that immediate
construction of such a building be begun in order to provide the necessary
- facilities fortheoperation of the St . - Louis- San -Francisco Railway Company
within the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas , an emergency is hereby declared to
exist , and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after
its passage and approval .
