AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 9 OF ORDINANCE N0 . 7892 AND REDEFINING
THE WORDS "RESIDENTS OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS" , AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES ,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVI'LLE,
ARKANSAS :
Section 1 . Section 9 of ordinance No . 789 of the ordinances of.
the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas is hereby amended to read as follows :
The words - "Residents of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas "
for the purpose of this ordinance mean any person whose
residence is within the limits of the City of Fayetteville ;
Also, any person, persons , firm, corporation or organization
owning or using a place of business , warehouse, office,

factory, or location for business purposes with4the limits _
of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas . This ordinance shall
not apply to tourists , visitors or other non-residents of the
City of Fayetteville, Arkansas . Students in the University
of Arkansas and in the Fayetteville Business College who
are bona fide residents of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas
and are the ovners of motor propelled vehicles shall be
subject to the payment of motor vehicle taxes or license fees
in the same manner as other residents of the City of . Fayetteville &
Section 2 . All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are. hereby repealed and it appearing that much confusion has arisen in the
interpretation of Section 9 of Ordinance No . 789 of the .Ordinances of the
City of Fayetteville , Arkansas and that the situation should be clarified
immediately and this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the.
public , peace , health •and safety and the equitable and lawful administration
of the motor vehicle license laws of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas , an
emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full
force and effect from and after its passage and approval ,
