AN ORDINANCE CREATING A CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION TO BE KNOWN AS THE
AML - SERVICE . COMMISSION FOR THE . POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMWTS OF THE CITY
OF FAYETTEVILLE, , ARKANSAS, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES :
WHEREAS, Act 326 of the Acts of Arkansas for the year 1949 require
cities of the first class now having a Civil Service System to enact an
ordinance naming five upright and intelligent citizens of the City of -
Fayetteville to be known and designated as a Board of Civil Service
Commissioners for the Police and Fire Departments of the City of Fayette-
ville, Arkansasr,
NOW. THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. There is hereby created a Board of Civil Service Commissioners
for the P61ice:_and':Fire' Departmenta of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas

as a Board of Civil Service Commissioners for said police and fire depart
ments whose terms shall normally expire on the first Monday in April of
1952, 1954s 1956 , 1958 and 1960 respectively.
Section 2. . Vancancies shall be filled as provided by Act 326 of the
Acts . of Arkansas for the year 1949 or in such manner as may hereafter be
provided by lam.
Section 3. It appearing that Act 326 aforesaid is presently in full
force and effect and it appearing further that under the terms of said act
the City of Fayetteville was required to pass this ordinance; this act
shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval .
