AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE SOUTHEAST QUARTER OF THE SOUTHWEST QUARTER AND THE SOUTHWEST QUARTER OF THE SOUTHEAST QUARTER, ALL IN SECTION 20, ToosHIP 16 NORTH, RANGE 30 WEST IN WASHINGTON COUNTY, ARKANSAS AS A PART OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS ASSIGNING SAID TERRITORY TO WARDS AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES . WHEREAS the County Court of Washington County, "Arkansas did on May 27, 1949 make an order annexing the lands hereinafter described to the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas; and • WHEREAS, after the expiration of thirty days from the date of said order the County Clerk of Washington County, Arkansas , did make a trans- cript of the proceedings in said County Court , certified the same and forwarded a copy to the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas, there having been no protests or objections filed in the original proceedings and no appeal from the order of the said County Court within said thirty day period. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas : SECTION 1. The following described lands contiguous and adjacent to the present boundaries of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas , to wit : The Southeast Quarter (SE�) of the Southwest Quarter ( SW4) and the Southwest Quarter (SVA, ) of the Southeast Quarter ( SF4) , all in Section 20, Township- 16 North, Range 30 West in Washington County, Arkansas , sometimes designated as Meadow Vale Sub-Division and Lots One to Twelve and all of Lot Thirteen except the West 54 feet thereof of Cornelius Sub-Division be, and the same is hereby annexed to and made a part of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas . SECTION 2. The landf hereinabove described is hereby assigned to and made a part of Ward One of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas . SECTION 3. - It appearing that 4residents" in' the area' above described .are_badlq.:in: need , of facilities . which the "City_ of Fayetteville: 'is in a position to provide, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and affect from and after its passage and approval . CITY OF FAYZT LVILIZ. • ) AIMUZAS ) ORDER Ilow on this 27 day of May, 1949, this cause came an to be heard and petitioners appeared in pDrson and by their attorney and announces re.rdq for hearing, but there being no protests or objections filed, this cause was submitted to the Court upon the petition of the petitioners qad the evidence both oral and documentary adduced at the hearing . And the Court finds: That the petition in this cause vas filed on the 25th day of April'. 1949, and that this Court fixed May 27, 1949 as the date of the hearing of this cause and that a full thirty days notice of said hearin„ was given as required by law and that proof of publication of said notice is now on file with the papors in thin action. The Court further finds that an accurate plat or aap of the area proposed to ba annexed, has been filed in this cauese, showing the location of this land with respect to the present corporate limits of the City of Fayetteville, Arkettsas ; and the petition in this cause has been signed by a majority of the owners havinm a freehold interest in the lands herein— after described, more than six of sbm are qualified voters and actually reside in the territory proposed to be annexed, a majority of whoa have signed said petition. The Court further finds that the lands proposed to be annexed to the City of Fayottevillo, Arnansas in this cause are described as follova, to-wits The Southeast Quarter ( SB.;) of the Southwest Quarter ( BZ' ) and the Southmest Quarter (SV ) of the Southeast Quarter . ( Sf. ) , all in Section 2O, Township 16 I:orth, Range 30 Vast in Washington County, Arkansas. C� That the area is not unusually largo and that it is contiguous, adjacent ; and adjoininZ the present corporate li.raits of the City of Payettevilleq i Arkansasq and that it is peculiarly adapted for urbcn purposes and that said torritory should be cnnoxed to and made a part of the City of Fayetteville# Ar::ansae .
