HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 949 ORDINANCE NO. 6,9 AN ORDINANCE RESTRICTING THE SHOOTING OF FIREWORKS ON THE PUBLIC STREETS � 6 AND ALLEYS WITHIN THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE* ARKANSAS AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES . - ` �s BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas : Section 1 . That in addition to the areas now prescribed by ordinances of the City of Fayetteville in which the shooting of fireworks , firecrackers and explosives are now prohibited; it shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to explode, fire or cause to be exploded or fired any fireworks , firecrackers or other explosives on any of the public streets and alleys within the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas except that public displays of fireworks under proper supervision may be made by and with the consent of the Mayor of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas . Section 2. Any person, firm or corporation violating any part of Section 1 of this Ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not exceeding Ten ($10.00) Dollars and each shooting or firing of fireworks, firecrackers or other explosives as prohibited in Section 1 of this Ordinance shall be considered a separate offense . Section 3. - It appearing that firecrackers and fireworks have been - fired and exploded upon the public streets and alleys of the City of Fayetteville and that ignited firecrackers have been thrown into traveling automobiles on the streets of the City of Fayetteville and that torpedos have been exploded against the sides of cars on the streets of the City of Fayetteville and that the public peace, health and safety is in danger; an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval .
