ORDINANCE N0 .
AN ORDINANCE ABOLISHING ALL EXEMPTIONS FROM THE PAYMENT OF SANITATION
FEES TO THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS , REPEALING ORDINANCE NO . _,
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES .
WHEREAS, the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas has been unable to
keep said City in a _ sanitary condition with funds provided for that purpose
and ,
WHEREAS, under the terms of Ordinance No . c?j.�'of the Ordinances of
the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas , certain exemptions from the payment
of the sanitation fee were provided, and
WHEREAS, many citizens of the. City of Fayetteville, Arkansas have
been laid to believe that payment of sanitation fees were for the sole
purpose of collecting garbage and kitchen refuse when as a matter of
fact the sanitation funds must necessarily be used for many other ' purposes
in connection with keeping the City in a clean and sanitary condition .
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of the City of
Fayetteville , Arkansas :
SECTION 1 . On and after the effective date of this ordinance, no
exemptions shall be granted to any persons , firms and/or corporations
from the payment of sanitation fees set up under and by the terms of
Ordinance No . . Zgd , and all persons , firms and corporations shall be
required to pay the sanitation fees provided by the terms of Ordinance
No . � of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas .
SECTION 2 . All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith and particularly Ordinance No . S of the City of Fayetteville,
Arkansas are hereby repealed and it appearing that the sanitation problems
in the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas are becoming worse as the summer
season approaches , an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this l
ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the
day of , 1949 .
