AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR FAILURE TO PAY CITY AUTOMOBILE
LICESSES OR TAXES WITHIN THE TIME PRESCRIBED BY THE ORDINANCES OF THE
CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES:
Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Fayetteville ,
Arkansas , that :
Section 1 . A twenty per cent penalty on automobile, truck or motor
vehicle license- 1des shall attach to all such licenses which are not
paid within the time now or hereafter provided by the Ordinances of the
City of Fayetteville, Arkansas .
Section 2 . This Ordinance shall not affect or repeal any ordinances
of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas providing for criminal violations
for failure to purchase motor vehicle licenses within the City of Fayetteville,
Arkansas .
Section 9 . All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.
Section 4. It appearing that no penalties are now provided for
failure to pay motor vehicle license taxes or fees to the City of
Fayetteville after such fees have become delinquent, and it further
appearing that many owners of motor vehicles subject to the license fees
provided by the Ordinance of . the City of Fayetteville , Brkansas have not
-_ . paid their licenses within the time prescribed by the Ordinances of the
City of Fayetteville, Arkansas , and that penalties should be provided
for delinquencies in making payments, an emergency is hereby declared to
exist and this Ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the
public health, peace and safety, shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage and approval. ao v
