AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE FAST HALF OF THE NORTMTi ST QUARTER OF SECTION
TWENTY , AND A PART OF THE SOUTHEAST QUARTER OF THE SOUTHWEST QUARTER OF SEC-
TION SEVENTEEN, ALL IN TOWNSHIP SIXTEEN NORTH, RANGE THIRTY VIEST, AS A PART
OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS , ASSIGNING SAID TERRITORY TO WARDS
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES .
Whereas , the County Court of Washington County, Arkansas , did on
November 19 , 1947 , make an order annexing the lands hereinafter described
to the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas ; and
Whereas , after the expiration of thirty days from the date of said
order the County Clerk of Washington County, Arkansas , did make a trans-
] cript of the proceedings in said County Court , certified the same and for-
warded a copy to the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas , there having been no
protests or objections filed in the original proceedings and no appeal
f ram the order of the said County Court within said thirty day period.
NOV7, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of
Fayetteville , Arkansas :
SECTION I . The following described lands contiguous and adjacent to
the present boundgries of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas , to-wit:
Beginning at the intersection of the North line of United States
Highway Number 62 with the East line of the Southwest Quarter(m) X14* ,
of Section 17 , Township Sixteen North, Range Thirty West , and running
thence West bearing South with the North line of United States Highway
Number 62 , to a point where said United States Highway Number 62 inter-
sects the South line of said Southwest Quarter ( SV114) of Section Seven-
teen ( 17) , thence West to the Northwest corner of the East , half (dp)
of the Northwest C'uarter ( NW4) of Section Twenty ( 20) , Township Six-
teen ( 16 ) North , Range Thirty ( 30 ) West, thence South along the Viest
line of said East half ( E2) of said Northwest Quarter ( NWy) to the
Southwest corner of said eighty ( 80) acre tract ce NQrth, to the

etteville , Arkansas ,
SECTION II . The lands hereinabove described is hereby assigned to
and made a part of Ward One of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas ,
SECTION III . It appearing that the annual elections in the City of
Fayetteville, Arkansas , are to be held in the near future , and that the
residents of the area described in Section I hereof should have a voice
in the selection of municipal officials under whose jurisdiction said
residents will be , an emergency is heraby declared to exist and this
ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage
and approval .
