AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF PARKING METERS AND INSTALLATION
THEREOF , AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES *
s7hereas , at a special Municipal election held in the City of Fayette-
ville, Arkansas on December 2, 19479 the qualified electors approved
Ordinance No . 924, which authorized installation of parking meters in
the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas .
N0172 THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of
Fayetteville , Arkansas :
Section 1 : the Board of Public Affairs of the City of Fayetteville
is authorized and directed to advertise for bids for the purchase and
installation of not to exceed one thousand ( 1,000) parking meters to be
installed in such places as may be determined in the City of Fayetteville .
Arkansas , and to secure such bids taking into consideration the various
types and quality of parking meters , and to submit same to the City Council
before awarding a contract , with the right reserved to reject any and all
bids .
Section 2 : Meters shall be purchased on a per-unit basis , either in-
stalled or f .o .b, factory and shall be paid for out of the proceeds of the
operation , exclusively .
Section 3 : Contract for the purchase of such meters shall be made in
the name of the City of Fayetteville , after approval by the City Council and
upon order of the Board of Public Affairs ; and signed by the Mayor and
attested and sealed by the City Clerk .
Section 4: This ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the
public health , peace and safety , an emergency is hereby declared to exist
and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage and approval .
