AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE FIRST FIRE ZONE OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE ,
ARKANSAS AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE ,
ARKANSAS :
Section 1 . That the first fire zone be , and it is hereby extended
North along United States Highway 71 from the present North line of the
first fire zone to the North City limits so as to include a strip of
land one hundred and fifty feet ( 150 ) wide on each side of United States
Highegy 71 .
Section 2 . The first fire zone of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas Y
is hereby extended South along United States Highway 71 from its present
Southern boundary to the South City limits of the City of Fayetteville ,
Arkansas so as to include a strip one hundred and fifty ( 150 ) feet wide

on each side of United States Highway 71 . I
Section 3 . The first fire zone of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas
is hereby extended j7est from United States Highway Number 71 along United
States Highway 62 as presently located, to the .'est City linuts of the
City of Fayetteville , Arkansas so as to include a strip of land one hundred
and fifty feet wide on each side of united States Highway 62 ,
Section 4 . All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby :repealed , and it appearing that there are many structures proposed
to be erected within the limits set forth in Sections 1 , 2 and 3 of this
ordinance which are considered as commercial structures as distinguished from
residential structures , and that such structures should be constructed in
accordance with the regulations prescribed for buildings erected in the first
fire zone , and that they should not be frame construction as is permitted in
the intermediate fire zone, an emergency is hereby declared to exist , and
this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage
and approval .
