ORDINANCE ACCEPTING TERRITORIES ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE
BY ORDER OF THE CIRCUIT COURT OF FlASHINGTON COUNTY , ARKANSAS , ASSIGNING
SAID TERRITORIES TO WARDS , AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES .
MEREAS , at the annual election held in the City of Fayetteville on
the first 'Tuesday in April , 1946 , the qualified electors of the City of
Fayetteville , Arkansas voted to annex certain territories to the City of
Fayetteville , Arkansas and the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas pursuant to
the results of said election filed its petition in the County Court of
iashington County, Arkansas , and thereafter on June 11 , 1946 the County
Court made an order in said cause and certain remonstrants appealed to
the Circuit Court of Washington County, Arkars as , and
17HEREAS , in the hearing in the Circuit Court of Washington County,
Arkansas an agreement satisfactory to all parties was reached and the
Circuit Court of ' :ashin7ton County, Arkansas did on May 7 , 1947 amend
the order of the County Court of .ashington County, Arkansas and upon
amending the said order , the appeals of all remonstrants were dismissed
without objection and the cause remanded to the County Court of Ivashington
County , Arkansas for the purpose of completing the annexation procedure ,
and
L'HEREAS , the County Court of Washington County, Arkansas did on Lay 12 ,
1947 make an order annexing the territories described in the order of the
Circuit Court to the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas and the County Clerk
of Washington County, Arkansas has forwarded transcripts of the proceedings
to the Secretary of State and to the City of Fayetteville ,
NO^ , THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE :
Section 1 . That the territories described in the order of the Circuit
Court and that of the County Court on remand , the description of which is
hereby adopted and made a part of this Section as fully and to all intents
and purposes as if set out herein word for

Section 2 . All of that said territory lying South of Center
Street and Center Street produced, and gest of College Avenue is hereby

assigned to and made a part of Ward Number One of the City of Fayetteville ,
Arkansas ; all of that part of said territory lying Test of College Avenue
and its extension Northward along . United States Highway Number 71 and North
of Center Street and East of the Frisco Railroad right of way is hereby
assigned to and made a part of board Two of the City of Fayetteville , Ark-
ansas ; all of that territory lying East of College Avenue and the extension
of College Avenue Northward along United States Highway Number 71 to the
extended City limits is hereby assigned to and made a part of .ard Three of
the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas ; and all that part of said territory
lying '.gest of the Frisco Railroad right of way and North of Center Street
and Center Street produced is hereby assigned to and made a part of Ward
Four .
Section 3 . It appearing that a special election is to be held in
the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas on June 17, 1947 and that qualified
electors residing in the territory annexed to the City of Fayetteville
should be assigned to lards in order that they may exercise their privilege
as qualified electors of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas , an emergency
is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval .
