ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE FIRST FIRE ZONE IN THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE ,
ARKANSAS , AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES ,
ViTIEREAS North College Avenue from the present limits of the first
Fire Zone North to North Street has become primarily suitable and desirable
for business purposes and the property is of more value for business pur—
poses than it is for residential purposes , and
V,1HEREAS motor vehicle count indicates that this section of College
Avenue is one of the most heavily traveled sections in the City , and
that all new construction on College Avenue in the past twenty years has
been for business purposes as defined by the ordinances of the City of
Fayetteville,
NOVV, THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE :
Section 1 . The first Fire Zone of the City of Fayetteville ,
Arkansas is hereby extended from its present norther n,boundary on College .
Avenue to North Street in the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas , and shall
extend on each side of College Avenue in depth so that the boundaries of
the first Fire Zone shall�D��—��` ge;

Section 2 . It appearing that there are numerous proposals for
the construction of business buildings in the above described area and
that public convenience and necessity require that this Ordinance be
effective immediately and that such business buildings should be constructed
in accordance with building regulations applicable to the first Fire Zone
in order to protect public health , peace and safety ; an emergency is here-
by declared to exist and this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval .
