AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE NORTHEAST QUARTER OF THE
SOUTHWEST QUARTER OF SECTION TEN , TOWNSHIP SIXTEEN NORTH ,
RANGE THIRTY WEST , AS PART OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE ;
ASSIGNING THE TERRITORY ACCEPTED TO WARDS IN THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES .
WHEREAS the County Court of Washington County , Arkansas
entered an order on July 16 , 1946 , annexing the Northeast Quarter
of the Southwest Quarter of Section Ten ( 10 ) , Township Sixteen
( 16 ) North , . Range Thirty ( 30 ) West , as part and to the City of
Fayetteville , Arkansas , and
WHEREAS more than thirty days has expired from the date
of the order of the County Court and no appeals have been taken
from said order and the County Clerk of Washington County ,
Arkansas , has certified said proceedings to the City of Fay—
etteville , Arkansas as provided by law .
NOW , THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of
the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas :
SECTION I . That the Northeast Quarter of the Southwest
Quarter of Section Ten , Township Sixteen North , Range Thirty West ,
be and the same is hereby accepted as a part of the City of Fay—
etteville , Arkansas .
SECTION II : . The above described lands are hereby assigned
to and made a part of Ward Three of the City of Fayetteville , Ark—
ansas ,
SECTION III . All ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed and it appearing that certain
municipal activities are necessary for the preservation of the public
health , peace , and safety, both of the people of the City of Fayette—
ville and of the residents of the territor&y herein annexed; an
emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be
in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval .
