AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE FIRST FIRE ZONE OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE , ABOLISHING THE RESIDENTIAL FIRE ZONE AND ANNEXING
ALL RESIDENTIAL FIRE ZONE PROPERTY TO THE INTERMEDIATE FIRE ZONE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE ,
ARKANSAS :
SECTION I
That from and after the ' pa. ssage , approval and publica—
tion of this ordinance there shall be only two fire zones within
the corporate limits of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas , which
shall be known as ( 1 ) The First Fire Zone , and ( 2 ) The Intermediate
Fire Zone ,
SECTION II
The First Fire Zone includes all property located within the
following boundaries , to—wit :
Beginning at a point where the east line of south Locust
Avenue intersects the north line of west Rock Street and running
thence west along the north line of Rock Street to the east line
of south West Avenue , thence North along the east line of West
Avenue to the north line of west Center Street , thence west along
the north line of Center street to the east line of University
Avenue , thence North along the east line of University Avenue to
the north line of west Dickson Street , thence Nest along the North
line of Dickson Street to the east line of Arkansas Avenue , thence
north along the east line of Arkansas Avenue to the south line of
Ida Street , thence east along the south line of Ida Street to the .
east line of Gregg Avenue , thence north along the east line of
Gregg Avenue to the south line of west Lafayette Street , thence
east along the south line of Lafayette to a point 259 feet and three
inches east of the east line of north West Avenue , thence south

259 feet and three inches east of the east line of north West

of Rollston Avenue to a point 180 feet north of the north line
of west Dickson Street , thence east parallel with the north line
of Dickson Street to a point in thewest line of a private drive-
way which is 147 feet , more or less , east of the east line of
College Avenue , thence South along the west line of said driveway
to the south line of East Dickson Street , thence east along the
south line of east Dickson Street to a point which is 300 feet
east of the east line of north College Avenue , thence south parallel
with the east line of College Avenue to the north line of east
Rock Street thence west along the north line of Rock Street to
the point of beginning .
SECTION III
All territory now or hereafter within the corporate limits
of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas , and outside of the territory
embraced in Section II of this Ordinance is in the Intermediate
Fire Zone of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas .
SECTION IV
The building codes of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas as
they now are or may hereafter become with reference to the First
Fire Zone and Intermediate Fire Zone shall be applicable to the
First Fire Zone and the Intermediate Fire Zone as herein described
and there being no residential fire zone as defined in the building
codes , the building codes of the City of Fayetteville insofar as
they refer to and govern construction , maintenance , and repair
in the areas heretofore designated as the residential fire zone
are hereby repealed .
SECTION V
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed and it appearing that the City of Fayetteville
is in dire need of additional locations for business property ,
and residential property requires the additional protection of the

application of the building code applicable to the Intermediate
Fire Zone , an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this
Ordinance shall be in full force and. effect from and after its
passage , approval , and publication .
