HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 883 n 1 AN ORDINANCE TO ABANDON PORTION OF UNUSED STREET Be It Ordained and Enacted by the City Council of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas ; ` That , Whereas , a proper notice has been published for two \r weeks of hearing on petition to abandon portion of unused street ; and it appears that all abutting property-owners have consented thereto ; and it further appears to the best interests of the public that said street be abandoned to permit industrial expansion ; there - tl fore , the unused street adjacent to the St . Louis-San Francisco L Railway upon the following described property is hereby declared to be and the same shall forever be abandoned to any claim of the pub - lio or the said city upon same for use as a street , to-wit ; ' Beginning at the northwest corner of Lot 22 , block 14 of �© Ferguson Addition to the City of Fayetteville , thence West to the St . Louis-San Francisco Railway night -of-way , thenoe in a southeasterly direction following said ri h - of - to the point where said right -of-way intersects -or U . S . Highway 62 , thence Fast to the West line o Lot 17 in said Block 14 , thence Northwesterly following the west line of Lots 17 , 189 19 , 20 , 21 and 22 to the point of beginning. And .this Ordinance having been passed by affirmative vote of more than two/ thirds of the councilmen , and the same being necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace , health and safety , an emergency is hereby declared to exist , and the same shall be in full force and effect immediately after its passage .
